Solar Energy Fundamentals Module 1.2
The course provides fundamentals understanding of the solar energy and how this energy can make electricity.
Solar photovoltaic is a technology which produces electricity from sunlight without moving parts.
Large sets of PV cells can be connected together to form solar modules, arrays, or panels. The use of PV cells and batteries for the generation of usable electrical energy is known as photovoltaics.
Advantages of photovoltaics are:
- non-polluting,
- requiring only real estate in order to function,
- solar energy is unlimited,
- it can provide energy at essentially no cost for years (typical service lives of 20 to 40 years),
- minimal maintenance.
Here you will learn more about solar cells and skills for the photovoltaic technician.
